Welcome Amigo, our new few spot leopard shuffler stallion!

Splashy Apps is a small breeding farm dedicated to raising quality Appaloosa horses with good dispositions, athletic abilities, intelligence and color.  Located in southwest Michigan, we are 16 miles from I-94 (Battle Creek) and 40 miles from the intersection of I-69 and I-90 (Indiana Toll Road) making us easily accessible.

What sets us apart

At Splashy Apps, we are offering  Foundation Appaloosas.  Tobys Black Lightnin (Splash) is our black and white snowcap stallion who has strong Toby, Red Eagle and Quanah bloodlines.  In addition to bright color, Splash has also produced foals demonstrating the Indian Shuffle when bred to foundation mares.  His foals are imprinted at birth, which only enhances their friendly dispositions.  They all have good bone, good feet and great confirmation.

Our newest stallion is SWR Pride of Dawn (Amigo). Foaled in 2000, he is a few spot leopard who is producing shuffler foals and has a "smooth as glass" gait to ride.  He comes out of the Southern Winds Ranch breeding program and we are happy to stand him at stud.

Our own mares come from a variety of foundation lines including Toby, Red Eagle, Money Creek, Bear Step, Patchy F416, Ulrich and Chief Chelsea.

We accept bookings for a limited number of outside mares.

About Us

I (Pat) have owned and ridden horses since my youth.  My interest in Appaloosas began with a Money Creek mare named Sandy.  The exceptional talent and intelligence of this horse was nothing less than inspiring.  Since then, I have had the opportunity to ride and own other wonderful Apps and now can offer the special horses and personalized service of a small breeding facility.

My husband Dale and I have owned Appaloosas for over 20 years and began the breeding farm in 1996.  The heart and versatility of the Appaloosa, as well as the heritage, is very important to us.
